Starting Point

The residents also use the new communal room as a lounge area on a day-to-day basis. The room is built in an exposed concrete style to match the existing architecture. The coffered ceiling gives the room a veneer of importance as well as a convivial and almost sacred feel.

Solution

Curtains in the colour scheme of when the room was built in 1980 were chosen to give it a cosy atmosphere, support its acoustics and act as a blackout solution.
