Starting point
Meriton Suites has opened a new luxury hotel in the nation’s capital, Canberra, where the lobby is highlighted by a custom-designed, oversized chandelier. To bring this striking feature to life, a lightweight fabric with flame-retardant properties was chosen as the perfect material.

The solution
The chandelier was installed using ALU NET, which has excellent thermal properties and a metallised backing that protects against glare and heat and creates a shimmering sheen. The layered suspension of the fabric creates a sculptural effect that perfectly combines transparency and reflection. In total, 390 metres of ALU NET were used to create this extraordinary installation.
