Starting Point
As part of a comprehensive modernisation project in the city of Monheim, two adjacent building sections – an existing, partially used administrative building and a newly constructed extension – were redesigned into modern, flexible office landscapes. The aim was to break up the classic cellular office structure and create an open, light-flooded working environment that meets the requirements for communication, concentrated work and flexibility. The focus was on innovative design elements such as organically shaped drywall partitions, dynamic colour concepts and well-thought-out spatial relationships. At the same time, high standards of room acoustics and sound insulation were crucial in order to functionally support the diverse work areas – from communicative zones to quiet retreats.
Solution
The flexible acoustic curtain system ACOUSTIC DIVIDER VARIO with NoiseBlocker was used to meet the requirements for sound insulation and zoning. In the existing building, this was used with outer layers of dense LORD acoustic fabric, which enhances the appearance of the room while also providing effective sound absorption. The freely formed cut-outs in the new and existing drywall partitions create exciting views and perspectives within the office units. With the help of the ACOUSTIC DIVIDER VARIO, these cut-outs can be flexibly closed so that they function as dividing elements and enable flexible zoning of the rooms.
The transparent acoustic fabric MEGACOUSTIC was used for the new building area, enabling clear zoning and improving the indoor climate thanks to its acoustic effect. In addition, SHELTER textile anti-glare curtains complement the solution and provide optimum privacy and light protection at the workstations. All textile elements blend harmoniously into the colour and design concept and contribute to a flexible, functional and pleasant working atmosphere.
