Midtown Residence – Tokyo

Starting Point
In the heart of Roppongi, one of Tokyo’s liveliest districts, a private residence is being built that combines modernity and individuality. Upon entering, a large panoramic window and a glass floor cube open up to reveal a cool, impressive entrance area. The interior captivates with its successful combination of glass, mirrors, vintage furniture and contemporary art. The aim is to harmoniously embed the textile design into the architectural concept and emphasise the special character of each room.

Solution
In the living and dining areas, which are separated by mirrored glass, a uniform curtain concept ensures visual continuity and harmony. GITTA is used in front of the DIMMER blackout curtains – a fabric with a strikingly loose weave that creates an exciting tactile and visual depth in contrast to the glass elements.
In the lounge, the coarse-mesh curtain fabric GLOBE and the blackout fabric DIMMER set accents. Together with the smooth DIMMER, this creates a harmonious combination of light transmission and blackout, lending the room atmosphere and depth.
In the sleeping area, beyond the lounge on the lower floor, soft purple and mauve tones create a calm, inviting atmosphere. Here, the softly flowing blackout fabric DIMMER and the delicate, transparent SOPRANO form a harmonious duo that conveys a sense of security and bathes the room in a soft, elegant light.
