VitraHaus – Weil am Rhein

The VitraHaus consists of 12 individual structures, almost all of which are glazed at the front. Specially made slanted curtains serve to regulate the light.

  • Object

VitraHaus, Weil on the Rhine, Germany

  • Concept

    Herzog & de Meuron, Basel

Starting Point
The large windows of the new VitraHaus allow for a lot of light and sunshine to flood the rooms. Moreover, you can see through practically the entire building.

Solution
Motorized slanted curtains, a special version of Metric Slope III, were mounted to ensure glare protection in the «playhouse»-like slanted windows.
In addition to this, curtains (Dimmer with a back lining in Universal) mounted in the middle of conference and meeting rooms ensure privacy and also absorb sound. And on the window fronts, anti-glare curtains protect against too much light and prying eyes.
