Can you tell us about the background and inspiration behind the development of Acoustic Stripes?
The Acoustic Stripes grew out of an innovation project that originally aimed to develop a sound-absorbing folding curtain. The inspiration was to revive the vertical blind and take it out of the traditional image of a doctor’s surgery. The idea was to reinterpret the vertical blind with an acoustically highly effective variant and at the same time create a new product from existing elements. Another source of inspiration was the emerging »striped« trend in the industry.
What innovative technologies or approaches were used in the development? Are there features that make the product unique?
Instead of conventional PET material, a PLF approach was chosen. This product is mechanically matted and then pressed, allowing for uniform density throughout the material. A distinctive feature is the subtle suspension deliberately designed to be visible, conveying a certain technical aesthetic. All connections are plugged, and no adhesive is used. The combination of absorber panels and vertical blind technology is unique in our market, as is the product’s simplicity and the materials used.
